Overview
Avid TCG needed to grow beyond Wix without losing momentum. Editors were comfortable with existing workflows, the catalog already contained hundreds of SKUs, and time-sensitive drops demanded stability. The challenge was to keep revenue flowing while introducing a faster storefront, a more flexible checkout, and a CMS that matched what the team already knew.
We designed a phased migration. A sync service ingests products from Wix into a dedicated database, normalises data, and keeps slugs and media consistent. Feature flags let admins choose when a product appears in the new shop, so teams can continue editing in Wix during the transition or move fully to the new CMS when ready. SEO is handled end to end with generated sitemaps, stable URLs, and schema, so both the current and future storefronts stay visible and crawlable.
What we did
We built a custom storefront optimised for speed and drops, with a Stripe integration for the non-Wix flow. The catalog sync layer monitors Wix, persists products to our database, and reconciles updates so PDPs, collections, and sitemaps do not depend on live Wix responses. A simple feature flag control lets admins stage, test, and publish products on the new system at their pace.
To keep media sharp and fast, we deployed a co-located, S3-compatible image pipeline that handles uploads, transformations, and responsive variants close to the app servers. The CMS is role-based and intentionally familiar, mirroring the mental model of Wix so editors can onboard quickly. We complemented this with lightweight training, clear publishing rules, and guardrails for metadata and URL structure.
SEO foundations include sitemap generation from the synced catalog, canonical rules, and consistent structured data. Operationally, CI/CD, caching, and basic monitoring give predictable releases and stable performance during high-traffic drops. As migration completes, auth and catalog management consolidate on the new stack without retraining the team.
